The calendar above is a combined view three Google calendars:

• UVA Creative Writing Calendar (Public events like readings)
  
• UVA Creative Writing Program Private Calendar (Things the general public does not need to know about like internal meetings, manuscript deadlines, etc.)
• The UVA English Department calendar

Calendar users should be aware that events on our "private" calendar are viewable by anyone with this web page URL. The events are not secure or behind any kind of password protection. We just put events on the private calendar to keep our public calendar less cluttered and confusing.

To sync our CWP calendars to your phone:

Most Apple iPhones

From the main screen, tap on Settings
Choose "Mail, contacts, calendars"
Tap "Add Account"
Tap "Other"
Tap "Add Subscribed Calendar"
Enter tinyurl.com/adduvacw

then repeat with tinyurl.com/adduvamfa

Google User with Android Phone/Device

Copy the following calendar URL:
   https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/uvamfa%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics
Use a computer or phone/tablet browser to go to google.com/calendar
If you are using your phone or tablet, click on "Desktop" view at the bottom of the screen. On the left (if you are logged in to your Google account), there is a list of calendars.
At the bottom of that list is a section "Other Calendars" and a downward arrow.
If you click this arrow and select "Add by URL" you can paste/enter the URL copied from above:
   https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/uvamfa%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics
Leave the "publicly accessible" box unchecked.

For MFA Private events, repeat for https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/5js0r571ue57m4kocor7nfjdug%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

If you are using an Android phone/device the calendars should sync to its built-in calendar app.
